Community Work

My community work involves a combination of environmental service and helping international students learn English. I’m the International Relations Director at Cycle Sustain, where I have helped install community compost hubs at two schools and led environmental literacy workshops for over 300 students. At Fairmont Prep, I’m the President of the Global Issues Awareness Group, where I’ve organized events such as Earth Day celebrations and recycling campaigns and extended our community outreach by partnering with 5 local organizations and over 20 media events. As the Programs Director at Literacy for ELL, I’ve taught English to over 100 English language learners and collected 1500 books for Reading Partners. I also help to teach English to international students through the Huishou English Club, tutoring over 30 students in preparation for the TOEFL exam. I also regularly volunteer at the Orange County Food Bank, where, along with other volunteers, we helped to pack 20,000 boxes of food on National Family Volunteering Day.
